Wonky Christmas Cheesboard
Christmas is coming! And that means a few things: presents, time with loved ones, and of course, an array of delicious food and drink for us all to devour! In preparation for the festive season, we’re excited to announce that we are running an event where we show you how to create the perfect Christmas cheeseboard, which will be hosted at the amazing FarmEd.
At the event, we will introduce you to five of our favourite UK cheeses sourced by The Cotswold Cheese Company, presented alongside The Wonky Food Company’s full range of food-surplus relishes. There will also be a selection of suggested wine pairings, brought to you by Oxfordshire-based importer of fine wines, Wine Traders. The event will also include a short talk about our mission and work to tackle food waste, and how each person can do little things to contribute towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
FarmEd is an organisation that aims to educate and inspire people to build sustainable food and farming systems which will nourish people and regenerate the planet. The not-for-profit organisation is based at Honeydale Farm in the Cotswolds.
FarmEd was opened in late 2018 by Celene and Ian Wilkinson. Ian had the main ideas for FarmEd in the years prior, while doing good work with Cotswold Seeds, a family business based in Moreton-in-Marsh. Their daughter Sophie also works at the farm as an Events & Office Coordinator, as the whole family share the same vision and ideas for the company.
Their headquarters feature three buildings, including a multifunctional conference space, a farm to fork kitchen and demonstration area. Small dairy and farming operations are on site too.
Partnering with FarmEd made sense as we are close neighbours and share the same mission of promoting more sustainable living. At Wonky Food, we use surplus fruit and vegetables in our products, while FarmEd champions sustainable farming and food systems, with a focus on reducing unnecessary food waste.
We are extremely excited to work with FarmEd to run this event and hope for many more in the future.
As well as being able to enjoy a night of cheese and wine, ticket holders can take advantage of exclusive discounts and pre-order items to curate the perfect cheese board at home, while also supporting some fantastic local businesses.
